Acts 20:28-32 (KJV)
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over
the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the
church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves
enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse
things, to draw away disciples after them.
Jesus gave us fair warning about false teachers that will deceive even God’s elect. The first step is to study the Bible intently thus to know what the Scripture is saying.
In 1 John 2:22 says: “Who is the liar? It is the man who denies
that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist – if he
denies the Father an the Son.
Study to show thyself approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15) and review the books of the Bible that were written to expose false teachings such as Galatians, 2 Peter, 1 John and Jude. Remember that the minister’s of Satan masquerade themselves as servants of righteousness.
2 Corinthians 11:14 (AMP)
14 And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel
of light;
Even Hitler knew the scriptures. As a child, Hitler was baptized into the Catholic Church. He was an altar boy, and at one point he even wanted to become a priest. But as history would later show, a church member and a Christian are two different things.
From his earliest political speeches, Hitler invoked God: a smart political move in the mostly Christian nation of Germany.
So how are we to know them – these false prophets and deceivers?
Jesus told us that we would know them by their fruits.
Matthew 12:33 (KJV)
33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the
tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his
fruit.
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Jesus came that we might know the TRUTH and that through Him we might have life. Keep in mind that he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. Think about it!
