It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalms 118:8 This is said to be the very center of the Bible; and a very concise statement that many are taking to heart now that America has lost so much in the stock market, 401 Ks, retirement and pension plans. This is quickly becoming a global crisis and something that is affecting America to China including the wealthy to the poor, such as never been seen before.
The following I wrote in 2009:
In the best of the world’s knowledge, rest assured, Warren Buffet (25 billion lost to this point, 3/2009), Bill Gates (18 billion lost to this point), along with casinos suffering from Las Vegas to Atlanta City would never allow these kinds of losses if they could stop it. When Donald Trump resigned as CEO just days before one of his entities (that he started and then remained as stockholder) files bankruptcy, something very serious is going on. When the United States is heavily indebted and financed by China, and China is concerned on their repayment, there will have to be some very intelligent minds at work to soften or resolve this crisis. When it is stated conditions are worse than any time seen since the Great Depression, we have reason to question if this will turn around by 2010 as financial adviser are saying on CNN. A general comforting statement has often been made that it will come back; it always does. On the other hand, countries have gone bankrupt in past history. The Roman Empire fell. We are on such a high and a way of doing American business; that we believe our own lies. We are in so deep in our indulgence, greed, and feeling worthy, that we can’t see the pitfalls. In our arrogance, we are in self-denial. Americans encapsulated by their self-will, instant gratification, and self-glorification that it is totally impossible for anyone to be “emotionally intelligent” that is far superior to ones IQ. Previously, I referred to referenced business men who have suffered substantial losses. Equally though, this is going to flush out many ministries, from television ministries to large mainstay churches. This also is going to hit non-profits square in the face; many that do countless good works. This will separate and disclose the purity of the intent of the mission and will separate the givers and the takers. This will separate the goats and the lambs. This will separate the ones that appeared to have love; but were there for the money. This will show whose motivation was to help the poor rather than to rob the poor. This will weed out the ones who are there to help the widow rather than rob her house. This will be the humbling of mankind of which I write. So now, here it is nearly Thanksgiving 2013 and all of the above and more have come to pass. The health care website is a bomb, America is bankrupt,Israel feels betrayed on the Iran nuke deal, Indonesia orders the evacuation of 15,000 residents because of an active volcano, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls the nuke deal with Iran “a historic mistake”,business owners are terrified of Obamacare, thousands have lost their homes and healthcare, Medicare patients are being refused Cancer treatment, Christians are being persecuted, and approximately 11.3 million workers remain idle with an unemployment rate hovering in the low seven percent for all of 2013, and still we’re killing babies as if there is no remorse Literally speaking, those that are good are being punished for it and those that are bad are being glorified for it. It appears that the following scripture seems more than appropriate for Americans today:
