OLMERT, FORMER PM OF ISRAEL ATTACKS PM NATANYAHU

Olmert PM has ‘declared war on the US government’

Netanyahu’s attacks on Obama’s Iran policy are ‘misguided and dangerous,’ former prime minister charges, says there are better ways to exert influence

Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Sunday launched a bitter attack against his successor, Benjamin Netanyahu, for his “utterly misguided” policy of publicly confronting the United States over its Iran policy, and said that Netanyahu was causing an unprecedented and acutely dangerous rift in bilateral diplomatic relations.

“We’ve declared war on the American government. You can’t deny this,” Olmert said at panel discussion at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv.

Under his leadership until five years ago, said Olmert, “It didn’t occur to us to go into battle against our best ally and to whip up Congress” against the US administration in the way that Netanyahu has done. “Any potential benefit” of such an open and unprecedented confrontation, he added, was far outweighed by the dangers.  More>

From the Author:  PM Netanyahu has the entire nation of Israel on his shoulders.  Biblically speaking, his fragile flock is looking to him for peace and safety.  He simply cannot ignore what appears to him to be a tragic mistake by the US, especially when it  puts  G-d’s people at risk.  He refuses to set by while his accusers make plans to annihilate  the entire nation of Israel.   It appears to me that the accusations by Olmert are unfair and premature as the people of Israel live in constant fear not only for themselves but their families. Putting ourselves in their place, wouldn’t you want a Prime Minister like Netanyahu?  History has shown the rockets of Israel’s enemies are aimed at its citizens and Israel’s hospitals are particularly targeted. Because the emergency room remains vulnerable to attack, building a new, protected underground unit fortified against nuclear, biological, and chemical attack is the priority of the hospital.  Taking the appropriate action now is the only way we can stop another nuclear holocaust.

“No one yet knows what awaits the Jews in the 21st century, but we must make every effort to ensure that it is better than what befell them in the twentieth, the century of the Holocaust.”– Benjamin Netanyahu

I feel that the criticism that he is receiving from Obama and former PM Olmert is undeserving.  The “Nuke Deal” is a mistake thus why not call it for what it is.  As per Olmert’s comment, “I hope this will not be perceived as an attack on the prime minister,” but how could you call it otherwise.  Olmert suggests that reaching a peace agreement with the Palestinians is the answer but are the Palestinians known for keeping their agreements?  I think not.
