South Korea’s state news agency has reported that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has executed the entire family of his uncle, Jang Song-thaek, who was killed last month. Among the executed are children and the North’s ambassadors to Cuba and Malaysia, the unverified report claims. An article on Fox News indicated that Kim Jong Un was drunk when he ordered some of the executions.
“Extensive executions have been carried out for relatives of Jang Song-Thaek,” Yonhap quotes an anonymous source as saying. “All relatives of Jang have been put to death, including even children.”
The agency identifies those executed as Jang’s sister Jang Kye-sun, her husband and Ambassador to Cuba Jon Yong-jin, and Ambassador to Malaysia Jang Yong-chol, who is a nephew of Jang, as well as his two sons. “The sons, daughters and even grandchildren of Jang’s two brothers were all executed,” the agency says.
The relatives were recalled to Pyongyang after Jang’s death on Dec. 12 and executed. “Some relatives were shot to death by pistol in front of other people if they resisted while being dragged out of their apartment homes.” More>
From Contributor B Harmon: News in North Korea is not good news for any Christian to hear about. I almost hesitate to do this blog but after I thought about it, I decided that it is good to be aware of the evil that surrounds us in these last days. Thank you LORD we are from a nation under G-d or we were at one time. I cherish that and so grateful that I was not born in such an evil land.
Kim Jong Un’s behavior reminds me of a vicious dictator such as Hitler who thought nothing of human life whether it be a child, a mother,or the elderly. North Korea is one of the most dangerous places on the face of the earth to be a Christian. New government regulations in 2014 will restrict a Christian from simply bowing their head in prayer and this past November the regime, led by Kim Jong-Un,has already publicly executed Christians for owning a Bible. Thousands are being held in concentration camps as I write this and are dying from starvation and disease daily. How could America just set by and do nothing for these people?
It is estimated that there are about 100,000 underground Christians hiding out and meeting in secret of which a third are incarcerated in concentration camps. This means that two-thirds of the underground Christians have managed to avoid being detected. Can you imagine what it would be like mouthing out the words to a song but not able to sing it out loud?
Following the death of Kim Jong Un’s father, Kim Jong-il in 2010, Kim Jong is honored by North Koreans by adding the name “Great” being added to his title. Songs are played by the Media in his honor, one being called “Can’t live without him”. Can you imagine?
We Christians in American should be ashamed of ourselves for our lack of steadfastness and dedication in which we have no excuse. Many of us do not cherish the Words of the Bible as those in other countries. Here we have freedom to worship and don’t – there they don’t have the freedom and pursue G-d with all their hearts. Is this not a valuable lesson to all believers America? Therefore, this article could be a necessary tool for revive our Christian principals and see the reality of our own dark sins. We cannot ignore the pain and persecution that others are facing in the world. These are believers that desperately need our prayers every waking hour.
