Many Christians Finding Fault with the Movie “Noah”

Interview with Russell Crow and Darren Aronofsky

I find the Noah controversy quite interesting. Immediately upon hearing that the director, Darren Aronofsky is an atheist I told my husband, “we are not going to see the movie Noah.” But for some reason, I just couldn’t put it our of my mind. No, I haven’t seen the movie yet but I’ve decided to go.  Now, out of curiosity more than anything I suppose but also to see how the movie affects me emotionally and mentally.  Besides, how can I judge a movie I haven’t seen?

With all of our youth living in an endless digital world, surrounded by agnostics and broken homes, drugs and alcohol, a knowledge of G-d’s word is not on their list of priorities. And yet, movies like Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones capture their attention very quickly. So I got to thinking how would G-d be able to reach a vast amount of young people with a movie that would inspire them to want to know more about Him?  How could He make a movie that might possibly penetrate today’s young minds?  A movie that, even if it is not exactly like the story in the Bible, has everything the other movies do but yet correlates with a unique and fascinating story in the Bible.

Interview with Darren Aronofsky and Russell Crow:

I read where many Christians are very upset with the fact that Director Darren Aronofsky is an atheist and I can certainly see their logic but then again, the apostle Paul was a terrorist of sorts. He was not only an atheist but a murderer as well. And yet, G-d chose Paul to save the Gentiles and maybe, just maybe, he has chosen Darren Aronofsky to bring salvation to our teenagers and adults as well. And who knows, G-d may use the movie “Noah” to reach Darrenn Aronofsky himself.

I think that it is ironic that this is the first movie about the story of “Noah” but it really makes perfect sense as our time may be shorter than we think. The world is getting evil just as in the days of “Noah”. G-d is collecting His flock as swiftly as time will allow. He is reaching the entire world with His WORD and when He does – then the end.
