Perilous Times Ahead from the Bible (Original Post Date: December 28, 2013)

1 But know this, that in the end times perilous times will come:2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

Man has deceived us but the “Good Shepherd” Loves us…..

“For of this sort” that “creep into households” and “make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth,” demands serious “self-examination” by all of us in what way we play a role and contribute to this stern and uncompromising statement. Too often, we that call ourselves Christians, immediately drop our guard if someone says Jesus or shows a form of godliness. Men idolize sports celebrities; women look up and many times are attracted to their physician, therapist, pastor, and/or employer. We all are very gullible. It is suggested by some it is why we are referred to as sheep by God because we are easily led or herded.

It is why there is only “One Good Shepherd” to lead us. When we let man lead us, not just women, but men included, we are easily led by our various lusts. Over the years, I can give countless stories on the infidelity of politicians, however I can document countless stories of infidelities of ministers, doctors, and therapists that is not only wrong by God’s standards, but a breach of their professional code of ethics. I find it interesting when man wants to label everything, maybe God blinds man into putting his label on his forehead that even in his wisdom that he cannot recognize while others of the truth can. Could it be that therapist is two words?
